Appointments - Hermit Park Clinic

Call 4725 5355 to make an appointment

Easy Bookings
For ease of making appointments and check-in, Hermit Park Clinic and Skin Cancer Care has a fully computerised appointment book system.

Choice of Doctor
Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time and GP, however, it may not always be possible to see your preferred GP (especially if the appointment is made at short notice). In this case, you will be asked if you would like to see another GP in our practice.

Multiple Patients
Please advise our reception staff if more than one family member intends to see our GP. To facilitate appropriate care and prevent delays, one appointment per person needs to be allocated.

Booking Long Appointments
We understand that some problems are more complicated than others, and we encourage our patients to think about this. Before making your appointment, please consider how many issues you need to discuss with your GP. No one can predict how long a consultation will take, but our standard consultation length is 15 minutes.  If you have a complex problem, or several things to discuss, please ask our receptionists to make a long appointment. This ensures we have the time we need to help you, and it helps our GP's run on time.

Emergency Appointments
There are times when patients require urgent access to a GP. Emergencies will always be given priority. Our practice has a system in place to anticipate such needs whereby in the appointment schedule, several unbooked appointments are reserved on a daily basis which can only be used for patients with urgent medical needs.

Patients are requested to advise our reception staff of the degree of urgency of the appointment. Emergency cases are requested to present immediately and will be attended to by the first available doctor.

Sick Children
Our policy is to see all sick children on the day the appointment is sought.  This usually applies to existing patients of the practice and their families, but all efforts are made to either see sick children that day, or help arrange acute care.

Waiting Times
On arrival for your appointment, our reception staff will inform you how many patients are in front of you if there is a significant wait time. If the waiting times are expected to be extremely long, you will be offered the opportunity to come back at a later time. Where possible, we encourage patients to call half an hour before their appointment to check waiting times.

Interpreter Service
If you or a family member require an interpreter service, we can organise this for you.  Please let us know when you make the appointment.
